Triple Play is the combination of telephone, broadband Internet, and TV services using one transmission technology.
Considerable bandwidths and a high quality of service (QoS) class is needed for the transmission of simultaneous real time applications to the end user. This can be achieved with existing xDSL technologies and over CATV networks.
Passive optical network technologies are used to transport real time IP-based streams as close as possible to the customer’s premises.
