The training course IP Security describes basic security concepts for protecting IP-based networks and IP-based services. It provides a classification of security relevant threats.
The training course focuses on security services methods and techniques e.g. authentication, access control, privacy, data integrity and non-repudiation. Above this Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) methods are methods are presented.
Finally WLAN (IEEE 802.11) WMAN (IEEE 802.16) security aspects are discussed.
Course target:
The participants gain knowledge:
- to assess risks and threats of IP-based telecommunication networks
- of measures to reduce the risks
- of measures of preventive risk minimisation
- of planning and implementation of security measures
